Hey girls, sorry I've been away for a few days. Been feeling in a funk and just got my energy back in time for another round of chemo. Beeen off chemo for almost three weeks to meet with rad onc., surgeon, and chemo onc. I have decided to go ahead with re-rads during chemo and then have surgery to remove the largest remaining met in my chest wall. So they are keeping me on the taxotere herceptin and zeloda until surgery then recheck the remaining met in my node that they can't get to with surgery and if it's still growing it will be time to change to new chemo. I won't start rads till the 26th and probably do them for a couple of weeks then heal up from that for a couple of weeks then surgery around the end of June. Lots more waiting ahead but at least I will be about done with radiation when my first grandchild is due and nothing will keep me from making the eight hour trip to be there for that.
A special chin up to all the newbies out there. I hope you never have to go down my road but if you do, we'll be here to support you for that too. I've been through the Lumpectomy, A/C, rads, bi-lat mast and recon, and two recurences. I've learned allot and the most important thing is to stay on top of it. Don't miss appointments after your through with treatments and keep a close watch for recurs. It's best to catch them earily.
Thanks again for letting me ramble on for a while. Just glad I finally feel like talking again.
Hugs,
Penny
