Posted by Miss Realtor NYC on 2/22/2007, 8:13 am I then did something that I never did before. I guess one would call it "closure." I checked the most recent itemized phone list. I never did that for the past three years that we had the account together (we were involved on and off for 12 years total). And what did I find? About four different numbers that kept popping up. All during the middle of the night -- 1, 2, 3AM. For anywhere from 45 minutes in duration. I did the reverse lookup and found that all of them were indeed female. Last night I started to feel bad about cutting off his phone -- kind of guilty for leaving him without one. I tried to handle it amicably --- asking him for three days to call and disconnect the line -- get another phone whatever, but he wouldn't do anything to sever this tie berween us. But doing that exercise made me feel better about having done it. Kind of liberated actually. Now there are no ties between us. And no way for me to call him in a possible moment of "weakness." I'm sure he'll go and get one of his "phone friends" to get a phone for him. I just wanted to say that I owe this burst of strength to all of you ladies on this Board. I had been on and off and on and off with this man for many years. Always going back. Falling for his lies. But thanks to all of you, I have found a new strength and inner-resolve that I did not know I had. Thank you, everyone.
Well, this morning I completed the final disconnect, literally, from my ex-CP. We had a joint cell phone account and I had his line disconnected this morning and the account codes, etc, changed.
