"You may be the only Jesus someone ever has the opportunity to see, make sure to show him in all that you do."
" I know the body is made up of amy parts.....but...I feel like the armpit sometimes... ".
The body is not made up of one part but many. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we all have an integral part in the body, and we each have individual purposes.
Where is your purpose, what is your part of the body? Too many times we feel like we must be the head, the smiling face, or the broad shoulders in order to help carry the church.
During a counseling session recently I joked that I may be simply the armpit of the church. Although I was attempting to use humor to help reach this person, it has really stuck in my mind. Maybe I am the armpit, maybe a little toe, maybe a seemingly insignificant mole on the back of the body of Christ. But whatever my part of the body I am, I am so thankful for the opportunity to just be a part of the body period!
But God can promote me in the body, yes?
Let me ask you a question. Have you ever seen an elbow "mature" into a hand?
A nose "mature" or be "promoted" to a calf or bicep?
No.
God however can take you, your part of the body, and strengthen, develop, and bring it to the ultimate purpose! This is how God promotes us, not to change positions in the body, but to fully develop us into the person we were destined to become through him.
A fulltime evangelist may start teaching Sunday school, greeting visitors, or even cleaning the toilets at the church. His part of the body as he progresses does not change, it simply strengthens until he is ready to use it effectively. A great pianist may have no ability in his small hands as a child, it is only through practice that the ability is revealed. He may have been called and destined to be a great pianist, but the hands had to be trained.
What is your calling according to your part of the body? Are you seeking advancement into other callings or positions? OR are you asking God to mature and build you into the body part you were designed to become, for a purpose you were destined to fulfill?
If an arm, be strong...
If a leg, run hard...
If an armpit??? Wear deodorant
and welcome to the team!
God Bless You!
