Hi Aimee!
Your experience is a mirror into mine!
We were on and off and on and off over twelve years! And I feel so exhausted by him at the end of it, that I feel the only way I can heal and rejuvenate my spirit and mind is to cut him off. He will never change. And in previous breakups that we've had, he's called six or seven months down the line to find out "how I was doing" or "thinking about me". Why can't CPs just leave it alone?! I am 41 and I want to find a relationship with no drama, no strategizing, no holding out. Just a nice person to enjoy spending time with. Maybe marriage and a child -- while the plumbing still works!
Let the healing begin.
