I have a 65 comet. I have drum brakes on all 4 corners. My car had a single piston master cylinder. I got a master cylinder for a 66 mustang with manual drum brakes. It was a straight bolt on BUT I ran into a couple of issues.
1)the push rod on the replacement was a little too long, and not adjustable. I made one to fit.
2) While the brakes work fine. I noticed that I had to use more foot pressure to stop.
3)All of the brakes need to be adjusted carefully. If the front brakes are adjusted properly but the back isn't. the brake pedal will only go down far enough to make the front brakes work, not the back.
I hope this helps
