ASA hit-your-own softball procedures:
1.Must be an ASA approved company in the 2009 rulebook. This is also posted online at www.softball.org under approved equipment.
2.Must be optic-yellow, red-stitched with the ASA logo and a visible cor/comp stamp on it.
3.Offensive team puts softball in play in their half of the inning and anytime a ball leaves the field of play.
4.When offensive team puts softball in play, it will be up to the opposing teams pitcher to inspect the ball. If the pitcher feels there is a problem, then it will be brought to the home plate umpires attention. If the umpire feels there is an issue, then the ball will be thrown out of the game and another ball will need to be put in play.
I will have approved softballs on site for sale if needed. I do not plan on becoming a softball salesman, but understand sometimes with something new, people forget or are unprepared. With that being said, I will have Worth and Dudley softballs for $30/half-dozen & $45/dozen.
If a team wants to order in the range of 6-12 dozen, they can call me for a better deal.
If you are not sure of something on this, please call or e-mail me ASAP.
