Posted by Dale I am seeking input from beginners to experienced swimmers and would appreciate if any of you are willing to post or email me your experiences. If you prefer to speak to me rather than write, email me with your interest and phone number. You can either submit to this forum, or send me a private email to me at rdsm_usa@yahoo.com. The thingsthat I am interested in are as follows:

Hi all. I am writing a graduate paper this semester on the ways we as swimmers deal with the instable medium for which choose to perform our sport. I am particularly interested in the language and sensorium of our sport.
1) Your experience with walking routines.
ie. How did you learn to walk a routine? Does your body automatically translate walking to the water? Was this difficult for you to learn? Do you remember learning it, or is it now second nature? Does everyone on your team walk routines consistently? What are the benefits of walking? Do you find it useful? Do you like it?
2) How do you personally learn a new routine?
ie. Do you write it down? Videotape? Rely on others input? If you record it somehow, if possible please email me a copy of your notes.
3) What is your experience interacting with water.
ie. How do you feel when swimming? disoriented, weightless, free, confined, strong, unstable, etc..
