Are we all still abiding by the same rules as far as transfers go? I know in my institution, I can't speak or have contact with an athlete who is already swimming at a college. They have to first get a release from either the coach or the athletic director to even speak to me. Now, they can apply to my school without me even knowing, and as soon as they do get a release and send it to my institution, I can then talk to them in regards to swimming. Are we ALL doing that? And is it also true that if a coach does speak to that athlete prior to the release, they may not be eligible for the next season? NOw, they can leave the first institution without a release, but then they must red shirt for a year and cannot compete. Now, this is my understanding, am I incorrect? I would love some help on this.. thanks,
