We would like to measure the temperature of a region on a
coated glass rod (the coating is transparant, as is the rod,
of course) at a sampling rate of 128 kHz. The region is about
0.15 mm in diameter. We can put the sensor as close as 1 mm from
the surface. The temperature rise about ambient (20 C) can be
as high as 50 C. We would like a temperature resolution no worse
than 5 C. Is this possible, and if so, which of your detectors and
preamplifiers would best do the job.
