Posted by Louis Lopez I am currently developing a meter for measuring UVI exposure. I plan to use the EryF diode and from the data sheets it seems that the output current is proportional to the UV Index. My question is: What is the usual method for finding the constant of proportionality so that my device can spit out a measurement in actual UV Index units (i.e. convert a current value to a UV index value). Is it common to calibrate a device that uses a UV photodiode against a reference UV radiometer and find the constant of proportionality that way? Alternatively, is it possible to just use the datasheet and the spectral response plot to determine the constant of proportionality mathematically? I appreciate any advice and help in this matter. Thank You
