I need to purchase a high resolution TDL centered at 1384.65 cm-1. I need to decide to buy either a Pb-salt or a quantum cascade laser. I am working in high ash (optically dense environment), which means the QC higher, more stable power output would be an attractive feature. The relative tunability of the lasers is also an important feature, since are larger tunability offers more flexiblity for multiple applications. The Pb-salt lasers tunability can be wide, but I have the understanding that the continuous tunablity intervals are only 1 or 2 cm-1. What is the continuous and total tunability of the typical QC?
