According to 'our local expert', ie Derrick Grimmit, and one of the other Nant Peris locals with whom I was chatting in the Vaynol about this problem, there isn't a problem with Tyn Lon's water - or at least there shouldn't be. this is because, I was informed, Nant Peris's water supply is from a spring further up the llanberis pass.
Anyway, I stayed 5 nights at Tyn Lon last week without any bad effects - though I only drank boiled water in tea, coffee, etc + the odd pint and glass of vino!
