The album Miracle is described as a unique collaboration between Dion and photographer Anne Geddes that celebrates the bond of love between a mother and her baby. A multimedia package being sold includes photos of the singer with babies, the album produced by Canadian David Foster, and a documentary DVD. During the official launch in New York, Dion said she felt privileged to have been with so many newborns during photo shoots for the book. "To hold children like that close to you gave me the feeling of holding life itself between by hands," Dion said at a news conference. "It's something we often say, but it's really the miracle of life," she added. "It was an incredible experience to have had the privilege to hold several children in my arms." The photo album includes pictures of Dion with newborns aged six to 31 days. Geddes, who is known for her photographs of children clothed in flowers, used this theme to accompany six of the album's 13 tracks. In the photos, Dion appears to be dressed in a variety of flowers with the children representing the petal of a rose, lotus, magnolia, orchid or peony. Eight of the album's tracks are new songs, including one written by Foster. The others are remakes of songs by a variety of artists. They include What a Wonderful World, made famous by jazz musician Louis Armstrong, and John Lennon's Beautiful Boy. French singer Henri Salvador's Le Loup, la biche et le chevalier (une chanson douce) is the lone French-language song. Brahms Lullaby is sung in both English and French. The 20-minute DVD is a documentary about the making of the album. It also includes scenes of Dion and Geddes, along with the babies and their parents. Dion said the project allowed her to find songs to express how she's felt since becoming a mother nearly four years ago. "It's very difficult to find the words when I'm trying to explain to people how I feel since I've had a baby," she said. "It Is unexplainable for me. . . .With these songs, it's exactly how I feel . . . and I'm pretty sure that a lot of parents will feel this way." The package of music, photos and video are available in three formats, with the album ranging from 20 photos to 180 pages. The album is also sold alone. The project between the Quebec-born singer and the Australian photographer was conceived in 2001 when Dion was photographed with Rene-Charles, her son with husband-manager Rene Angelil. The project is just the latest offering for Dion's enthusiastic fans. She also has a popular show at Caesars Palace hotel-casino in Las Vegas that been extended into 2007. A hotel spokesman has said the show has been a "great success for everyone - the fans absolutely love the show." The six-time Grammy winner began her engagement at the hotel-casino in March 2003. She performs about 200 shows a year and the one-millionth ticket to A New Day was recently sold. Dion was also honoured this fall at the World Music Awards for her massive worldwide record sales. Sony Music boasts Dion is the biggest-selling female artist of all time. Actor Michael Douglas presented Dion with the Diamond Award, which recognizes artists who have sold more than 100 million albums in their musical career. Sony says Dion has sold more than 175 million albums worldwide. One of her mega hits includes, My Heart Will Go On. The award, featuring a real diamond embedded in the trophy, was presented last year to singer Mariah Carey.
