Posted by Bear I know that some of you may have experience with this situation in the past and may be able to help set expectations. Young cat and dog lived together for few years. What behaviours should this family expect next? They expect cat will give a wider birth to the dog, yet may react heavier with body language. Are there things that can be done (other than more caution when feeding) that can be done to reduce the chances of this happening again? Thank you in advance for any guidance or links you can give this couple. They are very concerned about both their cat and their dog. Bear

This is being posted with a friend.
Cat has always stood his ground with body posture and noises.
Food (outside of dish) got between them.
Cat sniffed food, dog snapped and broke jaw of cat. Cat rushed to emergency Vet and is having his jaw wired.
