I'm convinced that Deramaxx was a contributing factor - if not the cause - of Gus' death. The vet my mom uses ("he's so sweet with the dogs, he's a very good vet") decided Gus was arthritic and in pain and prescribed Deramaxx. I had a fit, told my mom not to use it, suggested several alternatives. "I'm sure he wouldn't prescribe it if it wasn't safe, but I'll ask him about it at the next visit." She did, he told her "I'm not aware of any problems, it's safe and it's effective, it's a very good drug."
