Posted by TeriEaton Anyway, we went to a rescue this weekend and after many months of looking for the right dog for our family, we have adopted a Basset. He's a cool dog, between 1 and 2 years old, already house trained, etc. He does have the typical Basset heard headedness, though. It's quite a challange so far, but he's settling in well. The kids completely adore him as well. Anyway, I am wondering.... where is everybody? I put him on a raw diet starting Sunday. I've been following the recipes in the Pat McKay book, Reigning Cats and Dogs. I have come up with many questions in the process, though. My main struggle is calcium, and feeling comfortable with it. Is there a forum somewhere where people are discussing raw feeding? And does anybody have any experience with Bassets specifically? Thank you so much, and I think of you guys often and miss talking animals with you. Connie, when I visited Chicago and went to the great lakes, I couldn't help but notice every Sheltie there. Well, I was with my sister's lab, though, so between the dog and my kids, I really couldn't go up to talk to anybody. Take care,

Hello! It's been a long time. I have been SO busy with Emily for the past 4 years (imagine that!) and have not been quite as active on pet forums as I once was.
