I just happened to come across it the other day and didn't realize it had information about the liver and the diet. I found it interesting that he commented on how liver disease requires a high protein diet -- as much as the dog can tolerate. However, to keep waste products down, he recommends non-meat (eggs, soy, cottage cheese, etc.) (Of course, he also uses a high amount of grains...) He said that the liver can't heal itself without the protein. He also said that a dog with liver disease on a commercial diet is essentially doomed. I just found some of his comments very interesting.
