Just as when Wyeth downsized the PMU farms, this is bad news for the first 'few', but great news for horses in the long run.
Now that horses can't be slaughtered in Texas, southern horses will go to Mexico, where slaughter methods are much more inhumane. The good side is that this is going to really incense the general public & they'll fight all the harder to get the National bill against slaughter passed, which also makes it illegal for a horse be shipped out of the country for purposes of slaughter.
I'm telling you, I've watched this fight for 10 years... 2007 is the year our federal anti-slaughter bills get passed into law!
That will SAVE THE MUSTANGS, too!
