Posted by TerryW At least you were decent and had the horse euthanized humanely. Any horse at auction that has no chance of leading a comfortable life is better off being bought by rescuers for the purpose of humane euthanasia rather than be allowed to suffer transport and slaughter. What's really sad is the fact that for every horse saved from slaughter another horse takes it's place. Has anyone ever thought about that? By saving one horse you condemn another. That's the Catch 22.

Isn't that kinda like saying a horse with a broken leg or founder or kidney disease is unwanted because you couldn't find someone to take it off of your hands?
The slaughterhouses are going to slaughter at capacity regardless of how many horses are saved, there are always more to get.
