I have asked that my name be pulled from this Ethics things because
1) You cannot judge a rescue without actually seeing it. I know of one in Texas that has a great reputation until you get to know the President and go and visit this "rescue" the fence is partially lawn chairs, there is very little space for the amount of horses they have, very few are up for adoption (2 out of 7)I do not have the money or time to run all over the US and see if a rescue is up to standards and an opinion would be all you could truthfully offer and I would have to have PROOF.
2) The best way to report and complain against a rescue are The Attorney General of the state the rescue is in, the IRS, and the Better Business Bureau. Follow the correct legal avenues, this committee can enforce nothing and it would be a he said she said deal.
I have thought long and hard about this and since my recent attack by a rescue for no reason I now know that I could not fairly judge any complaints about that rescue. I had to file harrassment charges against this person and block their email.
I advise anyone thinking of joining this committee to think twice. Slander and libel are hard to prove but it can be done and if your name is connected with the lies you just might find yourself in a court battle.
No longer wanting on this Ethics Committee
