I beleive it is a disease any horse can get. I think it comes from eating hay etc that has been contaminated with droppings from racoons etc. I know its serious, mostly neurological. There is alot of sites that explain it. I thought our horse had it once, but turns out it was West Nile, symtoms are almost the same. Can be treated if caught early.
