In its first edition, 29 septembre 2011, this paper shows clearly its colors without reservation in support of mayor Guibord and Félio, one of his principal acolytes on the Clarence-Rockland municipal council.
It contains one open letter: Carmelle Gareau enthousiastically congratulates Guibord for his performance since becoming mayor. He deserves a 98% according to her. No detailed listing of performance criteria or standards against which to measure Guibord's performance are offered. No other performance perspective by Guibord is given. Yet on the Citoyens de Clarence Rockland Citizens site and in another newspaper, a detailed, factual and well substantiated performance evaluation gave Guibord a D- for his first six months as mayor.
The Tribune contains an article singling out Félio for his appointment on the World Federation of Engineering Organizations President's Task Force on Strategic Planning. This is the same councillor who since about the past year has been responsible to develop a Clarence-Rockland strategic plan and so far has delivered nothing publicly to that end to city council.
The paper contains 13 commercial adds, of which 9 seem businesses from Bourget and the others from L'Orignal, Clarence-Creek anbd Rockland. The obvious and shameless bias of this paper, starting from its first edition, in favor of Guibord et his principal acolyte Félio assures that I will support none of those advertisers.
It is beyond my comprehension how a reasonable person well informed about Guibord's behavior and that of his principal acolytes on city council could give the mayor a 98% performance rating. The emails published on Facebook by Sergio Netaliano, about which I have no reasonable doubt about their authenticity, added to his dictatorial attitude during the council meeting of 12 September praised by Gareau, renders to my eyes a positive performance evaluation of Guibord intellectualy juvenile at best, and in truth intellectually dishonest; it is not the least credible in my eyes.
The facts are the facts as far as Guibord's deplorable performance as a mayor is concerned. To close one's mind to most of that is in my opinion laughable and deplorable.
