RESIGNATION OF THE CLARENCE-ROCKLAND CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER DANIEL GATIEN
Posted by André Branchaud on August 9, 2011, 9:28 am
Last winter at question period during a municipal council meeting, a citizen asked mayor Guibord if he wanted to get rid of Daniel Gatien. He denied that he wanted to do that, advancing that he wished to reach common ground with Mr Gatien. In my opinion, only a death and blind person who knew nothing of the behavior and attitude of Guibord and councillors Choinière and Félio towards Mr Gatien during municipal council meetings could trust the seriousness of Guibord's explanation. I beleive the only common ground which might have satisfied Guibord and his principal acolytes at municipal council would have completely marginalized for all intent and purpose the influence of Mr Gatien in the management of important municipal affairs issues.
Well, supported by councilor Henrie and inspired by what I strongly suspect was advice from lawyer Stéphane J. Lalonde, Guibord, Choinière, Campeau et Félio will have taken eight month to acheive their preferred objective: the departure of Mr. Gatien.
What a travesty.
During the eight month of the unfolding of this deplorable situation, I beleive that conseillors Guy Desjardins, Bernard Payer, Raymond Serrurier and Michel Thivierge deported themselves with exemplary honor and integrity in their approach to that issue. In my view, the deportment of the other members of council has been the opposite.
