and further news..they will be playing at Gloucester International Cajun and Zydeco festival on the last weekend of January alongside Bearcats, Zfunk , Lil Jim Deepzone Zydeco, Zyderhythmics, Zigazag, Hackney Ramblers, and the Crane River Cajuns. After a period of experimenting with Swamp Pop and Zydeco the band are revisting their traditional roots with a fresh twist unearthing old melodies and writing their own material in the traditional style. see www.mamouplayboys.com The band will be playing on the main stage saturday night and will also be closing the festival on sunday night after jamming with The Bearcats. In addition they will be doing a special unplugged gig saturday lunchtime in the cinema. For more details go here. http://www.swampmusic.demon.co.uk/Gloucester%20Festival.htm This may be the last gloucester festival unless we break even. Last year we made significant losses and the council message is it has to work this year or its thank you and good night! Use it or lose it. The Steve Riley and Mamou Playboys appearance is a UK/Europe exclusive so catch this awesome band only at Gloucester. They have been bringing us their amazing music ever since they made their first album 15 years ago. Lets turn out en masse and give them and the festival our total support.
