Since we increased our admission price to £10 there has been a sharp decline in numbers of people attending our gigs. At the time we decided to increase the price we had not foreseen the recession and the effect it would have on people’s financial affairs and disposable incomes. As a result we have decided to run the last two gigs of 2009 at the special offer price of £6 per gig.
Our next gig, on Saturday 21 November, features the throbbing exciting Zydeco sounds of Lil’ Jim, who has put together a new band of young musicians especially for this event.
Our final gig of the year, on Saturday 12 December, sees the traditional Christmas return of The Hackney Ramblers. The £6 entry fee for this gig will also include a Cajun Gumbo (chicken or veggie) supper from our excellent Sara’s Kitchen.
We are finishing the year with two exciting bands, one Zydeco and one Cajun, and think that the new admission price represents extremely good value for money. Hope to see you all there.
