I've just tried emailing 'Glyn' but thought I'd post this in here incase the email address is out of date.
I googled Buttermountain Boys and I found a post from you on a Cajun Message board mentioning the group. I saw a group when I was a teenager who were called the Buttermountain Boys and would love to find out if they're the same ones. The only thing I remember is that the had an album called 'Made in England'. After the gig (in Jersey, Channel Islands. UK) me and a friend (connected to the folk and blues festival in Jersey) went back to the hotel all the bands were staying at and it was great sitting in the bar listening to them on their guitars and singing along to songs such as Leaving on a Jet Plane (one that stuck in my head. lol).
I remember at least one of the guys was late teens/early twenties and had long hair (I have a thing for long hair lol). I would remember this as back then I was a teenager of 18 and was obviously excited at sitting with 'famous' people in their hotel, sharing a drink.
The only other detail I can remember is that Rory McLeod was headlining this 'Jersey Folk and Blues Festival'.
Please help me out. A certain song from the tape I mentioned keeps playing over in my head. I have no idea what happened to my tape but the thought of it, and them, bring back great youthful memories (now 35 yrs).
Love and Light, Carina
