The legendary Ragin’ Cajuns may not have been the best Cajun outfit in Manchester – but they were certainly the first – and with the success of their Manchester Cajun Club in the late 1980’s probably the most influential. Who can forget 450 cajun cloggers beating at the door – trying to get out!?
Sadly the band broke up in 1991 and apart from a one-off appearance at Glastonbury – nothing. This is, until NOW!
Yup! The Ragin’ Cajuns are back for one last, totally unrehearsed, as spontaneous as you like gig, at The George, Great Norbury Street, Hyde on Friday November 7th at 8.00pm. Admission is just £5.
Apart from the fun of seeing a bunch of old geezers who really should know better trying to hack their way through a two set hour of Cajun and country favourites, there will be authentic toe trampling Cajun Dance lessons from Mel de Kennére and the finest gumbo this side of Mossley Bottom, cooked up by the master masher himself, Graham le Grand.
It will be a night to remember. If only the same could be said for the set!
