To encourage you to go for the genuine article, a couple of years ago I ordered a couple of rub boards off the internet, one of which was guaranteed to stop a .38 bullet which shows you the kind of dive that I play in, along with a pair of triangles (tit fer) made from the tines off an old bailer. The process was absolutely painless and the goods arrived from Louisiana in about 2 weeks.
That's the good news. The bad news is I cannot remember where I got them from!
