We have had an enquiry from the organisers of this year’s Bakewell Day of Dance to be held on Saturday 28 June. They would like a small group of dancers to do some Cajun dancing at various venues in the town. There are 5 venues, and those taking part would be asked to do two or three performances, for about 25 minutes each, between 11.30am and 4.30pm, with a view to encouraging members of the public to join in the dancing. These sessions will not be dance workshops and those taking part would not be expected to teach people how to dance.
This is a good opportunity to raise the profile of Cajun dancing with the general public and we would like as many people as possible to turn up. Would anybody who is willing to participate in this event please send an e-mail to us at cajun.uk@ntlworld.com
Bakewell is a delightful market town in the Derbyshire Peak District and has plenty of eating and drinking establishments and lots of interesting shops.
