Interesting comments again Gavin.
Trying to recreate things as they are in Louisiana is about as alien as Irish pubs in England or English pubs in Spain. I just want to make it very clear that this has NEVER been the objective of Cajun UK and has NEVER even been considered or discussed by Cajun UK. Our aim was always to ensure that people in the Notts/Derbys area could continue to enjoy the music we love after the Swamp Club closed its doors in 1995 --- that’s all!
Our concern now is about who is going to continue this work in future. However this message seems to have got lost somewhere in the several threads that have been running on this forum.
It is very disappointing that there has been almost no positive comment on the way Cajun UK has been running things from either our members or from people who attend our gigs. Perhaps we have got it wrong after all and should just quit now.
