Hey good people! this debate is certainly an interesting social study! its almost like we've taken a whole music, culture and lifestyle as our own! Its amazing the depth of feeling as to how we should conduct ourselves, behave in an 'authentic' way, attract 'new young people' (pin all hopes on poor ol lil jim..) and believe that 'our' music has the potential to hit the big time...!

Yes it is wonderful and unique and we love it..
Note that Cajun and Zydeco music and culture although connected are WORLDS APART! and its not all cosy and in bed together as people would like to think.. and thankfully in so many ways never will be.. even after all these years, but to try and re-create a fantasy of how things are in louisianna is folly! we'll all be wearing stetsons and cowboy boots next! imagine that...!
Respect your own rich culture and fully enjoy others! but please don't try to re-create an imagined fantasy, its insulting.. Merry midwinter to all! Gav xx
