It has to be worth checking the small print requirements - I hired a car in Florida, drove through Alabama and Mississippi to get to Louisiana for a ten day tour by car. When I returned to Florida (via Mississippi and Alabama again) I checked my documents only to discover that my insurance was invalid as I had taken the car out of the state. Thank god I missed that alligator!
