Posted by Andy Watson on July 6, 2007, 11:40 am Also Lil' Jim & Deepzone Zydeco are booked to headline stage 2 at Trowbridge Festival on the Sunday night and Joe Le Taxi are booked at Broadstairs again, which is great too because it shows that some of the bigger folky festivals are starting to give more programme space to Zydeco music again! This is great news for Zydeco bands in this country as it's getting the music to the ears of a younger and different audience in the case of some festivals and in the case of others it's reminding some of those people who have drifted away from listening to Zydeco that there are still some great bands playing Zydeco in this country. Lets hope this is trend that continues!!!! Just mt thoughts for today while bored at work... LOL

At this years 'Sheep Music' festival in Presteigne, Mid Wales they have booked 'Joe Le Taxi' to headline the Acoustic stage on the Friday night and they've also booked 'Z-Funk' to play the main stage on the Saturday afternoon!
As this festival is not a folk festival or Cajun & Zydeco festival and tends to book alot of acts that appeal to a younger audience, this can only be great news for Zydeco bands as it gives us a platform on which to perform our music to a new audience who have probably never heard of Zydeco!
