I would just like everyone to know that Former Cajun Pioneers and Creole Cats drummer Olaf Markewitz passed away on Tuesday February 7th. Olaf,from Unna Germany, was a regular face at many Cajun Festivals, especially in Germany, Netherlands, and France and he was a genuinely lovely bloke as well as being an energetic and inventive musician.He was diagnosed with lung cancer just after Christmas last year, he was 56.
