In total agreement with everything posted so far: what a fantastic success this year's festival proved to be. Those asking how Steve Riley could be followed from last year were answered with a brilliantly varied and high quality bill with great organisation.
We must give the highest possible praise to Chris Hall without whom certainly none of it would be possible. Those who have had the experience of promoting even the smallest of gigs with one or two bamds know the work involved and have some idea of the effort needed to make such an extravaganza happen. Then there is Chris's playing, always fresh, innovative and reaching new higher levels. One of many highlights for me at this years festival was when he joined the set of headline act Leon Chavis to play with him and to take a solo - Leon was visibly astounded at Chris's brilliance (glad I wasn't dancing during that number)
It would be a disaster if the Gloucester festival didn't happen next year, let's all do what we can to make sure that it does. It is far too good to lose.
