The first album was before my time with EFSB, so we need to wait for Nick to comment on the Sloe bit ;-)
On a CD all the track, album and band names etc. are often embedding in the audio data on the CD. If the computer that you are converting the CD to MP3 on is connected to the WWW, it will (often without your knowledge) go online to try to retrieve further info, like the album artwork etc.
