Posted by Andy Watson (JLT/Zydeco Storm) on April 12, 2006, 11:13 pm, in reply to "Re: NEW CZ GENERATION" Towersey festival manages to draw a large teenage crowd who are up for a dance! The problem is persuading the festival organisers to book a Cajun or Zydeco band, and it will be even more difficult to get them on one of the big stages like in the Arts Centre venue where the younger audience seems to be drawn. In my opinion if there is to be a revival it has to come from a new, fresh, young band/artist and there is no doubt that Jim is the man for the job. If Jim and I manage to get our new Zydeco band off the ground properly then maybe that will be the band to do it? Who knows... but if the CZ scene in the UK is to survive then a younger audience needs to be found. From a musicians point of view, this scene seems to be be hanging by a thread, I don't see too many new faces around the scene and there are less and less gigs each year to go around between the existing bands. Lets hope Jim succeeds in his mission!! ;o)

I agree with the comment about Towersey.
But it's going to be hard work because how do you start a revival????
