One cold night in January 2006 a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table in a terraced house in Chorlton, Manchester, placed a microphone in the middle of the table and began to play and record some of their favourite Cajun
tunes. Their aims were to:
1.Have a good time – in the best Cajun traditions,
2.Produce a ‘limited edition’ recording to raise some cash in support of the New Orleans Musicians Hurricane Relief Fund.
This fund has been set up to support the musicians and their families. Find out more at www.nomhrf.org
Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and silenced the musicians who made their living and supported their families by entertaining the residents and visitors to this wonderful City.
The Cajun Specials have produced a cd specifically to raise money for nomhrf - so you can make a donation and get a cajun cd in return. Cajun Specials – Mardi Gras 2006
