Yep thats true. He told me he was disgusted when it came out and he saw the way the cajuns were depicted as stereotypical backwoodsmen but thats hollywood for you. The sequence at the end brought hundreds of people to our gigs though when it came out. There'd be a queue of them at the end of the gig and they all had the same question. "have you seen that film southern comfort". The other film that had the same effect was The Big Easy. Its amazing how much effect a popular movie can have on the publics awareness of music as the Coen brothers movie "oh Brother where art thou" also proved. Anyhow the clip at the end featured Marc and i seem to remember several of the Balfa Brothers. If you get hold of anything by Marc Savoy or The Balfa Brothers that's the sound you will get.
