Losing fur could be a number of things from a parasite to fungal disease. I really don't believe that the answer you got from your vet is sufficient in my opinion. Possibly you could get a second opinion from another vet. The area where your dog is losing its fur, is it itchy? Is is confined to one area or spreading?
