I hope you do not mind but I will copy this and take a copy to our next Humaine Society meeting. if they let me I will read this to out jr humane society members at school. I have to get it approve by the principal.
The more we spread the word and this article the better chance we all will have to save at least one animal .
I mostly help out with the kennels by cleaning or help get materials needed for the shelter. I do a lot with the fun raisers for both places here in lamar county.
I remeber that time I got a call from my vet saying that one of his customers turned in their 13 year old lab female because they no longer wanted her or the cats. They were going through a divorce and neith one wanted the animals they have had sense they were pups or kittens. My vet found a home for the 2 cats but it was hard for the sweet lab name salley. The owner paid to have all 3 put down , but my vet said they are so healthy it was ashamed to put the down. salley was spaid and house trained and obedience trained too. I could not believe they would give her up so easly after 13 years together. I got salley and kept her for 3 weeks and finaly found someone that would take her in and let her finish her life out. salley live 3 more years. The people that took her in fell in love with her right off the bat. I was very lucky to have found such sweet people to take her in. It is too bad we can not find homes for all.
