Posted by Connie Sue You have a chance to buy a blue female Dobe from a local "breeder". You do your research with them, their pre-breeding tests consist of a yearly physical and shot update (We won't even go into the quality of the pedigree at this point). You know more about dogs (and Dobes) than that, and don't purchase the pup. As well as keeping in touch with local DPCA breeders, you keep in contact with the local rescue, just to keep options open, looking for a young blue female. Eight months later, the adoption coordinator contacts you, asking if you're still interested. They have a 10 month old blue girl that was just turned in to rescue. Would you be interested? Why was she turned in? She chews and the wife really didn't want a dog that big. Asking a few more questions, you discover this is the same pup you turned down 8 months ago. Do you adopt her? What's the difference between now and 8 months ago? It's the same dog.
