Patriarch Maxim Wants to Be Legalized.
Parliamentary chief Ognyan Gerdzhikov drank brandy from Troyan together with the bishops, he promised them a new law.

Patriarch Maxim asked PM Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Parliamentary Chairman Ognyan Gerdzhikov to be registered as the head of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Bishop of Sofia at a meeting in the Synodal Palace yesterday. The Church is unable to fulfil its educational, missionary and social role after the Department of Ecclesiastical Matters with the Cabinet deprived it of registration on May 2, 1992 and thus the schism started. It is the civil power to again settle the problem with the legal statute of the Church, Father Maxim was flat. PM Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, however, didn't promise him anything in particular. This week I'll appoint an extraordinary sitting of the parliamentary commission to settle the problems of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and Zograph ephoria on Mount Athon, Parliamentary Chairman Ognyan Gerdzhikov said.
