I was a 4.0 cm, grade 9, ER/PR neg., no lymph node involvement. My onc has never dwelled on that score, and when you think about it, it is never used as a factor in staging, so I wonder just how significant it is. I think you will find that most of us are 8 or 9. There was an interesting article in the "NEWS" part of this website about a "REAL LIFE" study that shows the factors that ARE used to determine "high risk", and the interesting part of the study shows that unless there are 10 or more lymph nodes involved, we high riskers (cuz we are ER/PR neg) don't really have an increased risk of recurrence for at least the first two years (the study hasn't gone on long enough to see how we fare over a five year period).
