Hi.
I haven't been here in several years, because I have been busy LIVING.
I am a 5-year survivor, diagnosed Feb 2004 with stage 2B, largest tumor 3.5 x 2.5 cm. ER and PR positive, HER2 negative.
I went through surgery, had a micro-metastasis in the sentinal node, and refused a second operation to remove the rest of my lymph nodes, trusting chemo to get anything else.
I had 4 A/C chemo, refused Taxol, and had 24 rads.
I was sick for 15 months, but eventually was strong enough to go back to work.
Yes, it was a battle but I WON! I have had a couple of benign, fluid-filled cysts since then, but no sign at all of the breast cancer.
Five years later, I am still here, wiser, and more compassionate. Cancer changes you, but you are in charge as to HOW it changes you as a person. Please let it be for the better, and not the bitter.
Visit my web site for encouragement regarding chemotherapy. It's http://www.dancinginthesun.com
Positive thinking is at least half the battle. Be good to yourself.
