Yikes, I came here today for the first time in AGES and I couldn't remember my screen name! How is that for chemo brain?!
First of all, I want to whole-heartedly agree with Trish the Dish in everything she says. (And thank her too, her story has inspired me from my first visit to this board in 2002.) The fear is TREMENDOUS but take it from me, it passes and life is so normal again. Thank God for that!
My story:
June 2002 suspicious Mammo
(and they dinked around for almost 2 months before properly diagnosing the thing, arghhh)
Sept 2002 surgery: 1.3cm tumor, 3 positive nodes (big ones) er/pr her2 all negative, grade 3.
Treatment: 4 rounds of AC followed by 4 rounds of Taxotere then the usual radiation treatments.
Since I consider June my "DATE" I'm calling it 6 years then! And I can't believe it. I was quite certain I would be gone by now.
Hang in there ladies, you can do this thing, and I promise you that your life WILL be normal again!
Blessings to you all,
Jeanie M. in California, also known as Jeanie Bobeanie!
