My mom had mast in Feb of 1981, had year of chemo and still alive and even still working. At time of bc in 1981 she had only GED. After the yr of chemo she went to college and got her masters degree in social work and did all this in her early 40's. Never hd a reoccurance of any type but did have a hip replacement so she encourages calcuim. I'm one year out of my surgeries for bc too. but I've had a great role model for not giving up.
