Auditions: Sunday February 22nd & Monday February 23rd at 7pm
Callbacks Wednesday February 25th (if needed)
Auditioners will be required to sing 16 bars of music (piano accompaniment will be provided, you may also use tape or CD; please no a cappella) and perform cold readings from the script.
Characters:
John Wilkes Booth – assassinated President Lincoln Vocal Range: Baritone
Charles Guiteau – assassinated President Garfield Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor
Leon Czolgosz – assassinated President McKinley Vocal Range: Baritone/Bass
Guiseppe Zangara – attempted to assassinate President-elect Franklin D. Roosevelt
Vocal Range: Must hold an A
Samuel Byck – attempted to assassinate President Nixon Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor
Lynette “Squeaky” Fromme – attempted to assassinate President Ford Vocal Range: Mezzo
Sara Jane Moore – attempted to assassinate President Ford Vocal Range: Soprano
John Hinckley – attempted to assassinate President Reagan Vocal Range: Baritone/Pop Voice
Lee Harvey Oswald – assassinated President Kennedy Non-Singing
(will also double as David Herold – confederate of John Wilkes Booth)
Balladeer – Narrator / Voice of the American People Vocal Range: Tenor
Emma Goldman – Turn of the century Anarchist agitator & feminist
Proprietor – manager of a shooting gallery at a carnival
Billy – Sara Jane Moore’s 9 year old son
Ensemble: Presidents, Tourists, Bystanders
Performance Dates: May 1st through 16, 2009 Fri. & Sat. 8pm; Sundays 2pm
Rehearsals will take place 3 nights a week (TBD) 7-9pm; flexible scheduling.
If you have ANY conflicts with performance dates or the week prior, please refrain from auditioning.
