Announcing auditions for the opening show of the 2008-2009 season. Nunsense 2: The Second Coming. Auditions are Sunday June 22 and Monday June 23 at 7pm. Callbacks, if needed, will be Tuesday June 24. Show runs September 12 through September 27.
The director is seeking a diverse cast of 5 women of various voice parts and ages. Please prepare a song of your choice showing range. Approx 16-32 bars. An accompanist and CD will be available. Please bring comfortable clothes for a dance audition. There will also be readings from the script. Character descriptions are as follows:
Reverend Mother Mary Regina-The number 1 at the convent. Was once a circus performer who gave up showbiz to become a nun. Must have an Irish accent.
Sister Hubert-The 2nd in command and mistress of the novices. Gospel type singer. Must have strong belt.
Sister Robert Anne- A tough talking street wise nun from New York. She is Reverenced Mother's understudy yet again.
Sister Mary Paul (formerly Sister Amnesia)-the nun who won the publishers clearing house sweepstakes. She also longs to be a country western star. Not sharpest tool in the shed.
Sister Mary Leo-she is the novice of the convent. Her goal is to serve god by becoming the first nun ballerina. The actress cast in this role will be required to roller skate on stage.
