The big question is how your league handles keepers. No matter what the answer is, however, I find it hard to believe you wouldn't be making a tremendous gain by taking Edmonds. Injury risk or not, he's a top 10 outfielder, while Greene is not much better than tenth at shortstop. If you can't keep Greene or Weeks more than one more year, this trade seems like a big "yes" to me. At this point of the game, it's way too early to worry about next year; make your plays to win now.
: Is it ever good to make a bad trade, especially
: if you're considered a shark in your league?
: I read somewhere that if you make a bad trade
: early on, then people are more likely to
: trade with you.
: The following trade might be a good trade
: now, but might look bad in the future.
: Here's the offer that was made to me. Jim
: Edmonds and a prospect for Richie Weeks and
: Khalil Greene OR Edmonds and a draft pick for
: Jeff Conine and Richie Weeks.
: Some background: I am in first place.
: NL-only league, 12 teams, HOLDS and Field
: Percentage are the extra categories.
: These are my OF's: JD Drew, Alou, Green,
: Conine, and DeWayne Wise. With Bergeron on
: the bench right now.
: I want to make this trade, but my hesitation
: is with Edmonds' injury history. Plus, I
: would be giving up either one or two players
: at a position with scarcity.
: Any ideas?
